Attachments

The Attachments preference allows you to define the file type of the image you have created. Select the file name and file format of the email attachments sent via Capture Express.

Capture Express > Options > Preferences > Email > Attachments tab

Default File Name

The default file name is the name that will be given to the file attachment (i.e. the captured image) when you send it via email. You may optionally rename the file in the Send Image Via Email window when sending the message.

It is not necessary to include the file extension in the default file name. The file extension of .gif, .jpg, .bmp, .png or .tif will be based on the Default Format selected.

Default Format

Select whether to email the image as a bitmap, jpeg, gif, png or tif file. The .jpg, .gif and .png file formats result in a smaller file size which is better suited for use as an email attachment.

Save Sent Images

When the image is sent via email, Capture Express saves the image to the hard drive in order to send as an attachment. It is saved to the location found in the Default File Name field described above. Or if you override the default location, the image will be saved to folder you designate. If you leave the Save Sent Images checkbox unchecked then the image will be deleted from the hard drive after the email is sent.

If you select the option to Keep a Log of All Messages Sent, the image name and file path will be stored in the log when you save the sent images on the hard drive. If you elect to not save the sent images, only the file name will be displayed in the Email Log.
