Getting Started

Capture Express is actually quite simple to use. After installing the program, click on Start |All Programs | Capture Express to start the program.

There are just a few basic steps to successfully capture an image. The first step, configuring the program, only needs to be done once. Then you decide what to capture, capture the image and finally choose what to do with the image.

Configuring Capture Express

You may configure the program by right clicking on the Capture Express icon  in the system tray. Then left click on the Preferences menu option. The Preferences window is divided into several panels where you can choose how you want the program to behave.

Hot Key

In the Manual Capture preference select a hot key combination to activate Capture Express when you are ready to begin a capture. The program default hot key is F11. You can also define a second hot key to activate Automated captures. The Automated captures require minimal user intervention.

What to Capture

When you press the manual capture hot key, the Capture Express window will open. Select what you want to capture - the entire screen, a window, a circle or any number of shapes - and click on the Capture button.

Action

When the capture is complete, another Capture Express window opens prompting you what you would like to do with the image. You can choose to save the image as a bitmap, jpeg, png, tiff or gif file. Or you can print, email or copy the image to the clipboard.

The Tutorial section of this help file provides examples of using the program in Manual and Automatic capture modes.
