For this tutorial we will capture the image of a specific window and email that image.

Set the Automatic Capture default settings.

Left mouse click on Preferences from the menu that opens to view the Preferences panel. Click on Capture and then click on the Automatic Capture tab.

1. Set the Hot Key to F12.

2. Select the Dotted Outline option.

3. Choose Window from the What to Capture drop down list.

4. Set the Time Delay to two (2) seconds.

5. The Masks, Borders and Vectors do not apply to the Capture Window option and are grayed out.

In the After Capture Action section make sure the settings are as follows:

6. Select Email the Image from the Capture Action drop down list.

7. The other options should be grayed out as they do not apply to the Email option.

8. Click Apply to save the changes made.

Set the Email Preference Settings

Click on Email in the Preferences window and select the Email Settings tab, which should already be visible.

1. Select the Email Using your Default Email Client option as the Email Protocol.

3. All other options will be grayed out and not needed for this Email Protocol setting.

4. This option will send the email using your default MAPI compliant email program such as Outlook, Outlook Express, Thunderbird, Eudora, etc.

Next click on the Attachments tab.

4. Wait for the 2 second delay to hear a beep indicating the capture is complete.

5. The Send Image via Email window opens.

6. Insert the email address of the person receiving the email.

7. Include a subject for the message.

8. Include a message or greeting to the person receiving the email.

10. The To, From, Subject, Message and Attachment should be set in the New Message window or similar of your default email message.

Note 1: Capture Express interacts with MAPI compliant email programs such as Outlook, Outlook Express, Eudora, Thunderbird, etc. An error message will appear when clicking on the Send icon in the Send Image via Email window if your email program does not support this feature.

Note 2: Capture Express can also send emails directly from the Send Image via Email window. Look at the Email Settings preference to configure this properly.
