Tutorial Overview

This tutorial section walks you through the steps of capturing an image and then doing something with the captured image. Tutorials using the Manual Capture method as well as the Automatic Capture method are available.

Manual Capture

The Manual Capture requires user intervention during each step of the process. You are prompted to choose what to capture, make the capture and then decide what to do with the capture.

Automatic Capture

The Automatic Capture method streamlines the capture process. Depending on your settings in the Preferences, the single press of a hot key will capture the image and save to the clipboard, save to a file, etc. If you are capturing a shape or a rectangle, of course you would still need to move the mouse to draw the shape around the image. But everything else is automated.

If you want to capture something different than what you have set in the Automatic Capture preferences, you would first need to change the preferences or use the Manual Capture method.

Use this method to capture drop down menus and popups that otherwise would not be possible to capture manually.
